Best Deals for Fall

Posted · Add Comment

The last days of warm weather can feel a little weird. Fun in the sun is winding down. It’s a time marked mostly by back-to-school sales, but there are deals out there for the adults as well.

Sale, sale, sale!!!

The Fall is a great time to put your hard-earned money to work. Sales typically run on summer apparel and that’s where you’ll see the biggest discounts.  And check your inbox, high-end brands including Brooks Brothers, Williams-Sonoma, Restoration Hardware and Crate and Barrel are sending out notices of sales and are expected to have hefty discounts that generally end near the first of October.

Outdoor Items

With summer over, retailers are also ready to clear out their inventory of grills, outdoor furniture, etc. That adds up to a bargain, so now is the time to load up on things you’ll need for next summer. Outdoor items make up the majority of early Fall sales and prices will begin to drop at the beginning of September. For the best deals, check with big retailers like Target and Sears and even your local grocery stores as they want to get rid of this inventory. And don’t skip Kmart, last year, the company took up to 90% off its outdoor items.

Need A New Mattress?

Is your mattress lumpy? Do you sometimes wake up feeling tired and out of sorts?  Odds are you’ve probably worn your mattress out past its life span. Good news: mattresses also see steep discounts during the Fall months. Expect to see up to 50% off from major retailers. Another perk is that many will also offer free shipping, saving you even more $$$.

Grocery Stock Up Sales

Now that Fall is upon us, you will see the stores stocking their shelves for the upcoming winter months. This can also work to your advantage. Now is the time to get all of those can goods, frozen meals and even meat purchases out of the way. The grocery stores are having sales on all of this and even offering value packs on the meat! So get that winter shopping list out and take care of it now!

Bonus: Maybe A New Car?

Finally, you’ll have to do your homework for this one, but if you can make it work you can save thousands! This is the time when car dealers really want to get rid of the 2015 cars. Yes, they had the normal sales during the summer, but there is still inventory that has to go to make way for the 2016 models. So if you are in the market, this could be the perfect time to buy that car you have been eyeing and be sure to negotiate a deep discount.
